Making it up

28 06 2008

Any woman or minority who runs for president of the United States after 2008 will have an easier road to travel.

Right now, Barack Obama and his team have to draw the map.

Being a trailblazer is not easy.

Good for them

Way to stand up to an airline trying to run the okie-doke on you…

A late big ups

To the Fresno State Bulldogs, who won the College World Series after being on the road for 42 straight days. They stumbled badly out of the gate, recovered and beat a superior team.

Hope for us underdogs.

(And love the song in the video…)

An awesome story

From mentalfloss.com…

Duck Walks Miles to Save Ducklings
Six baby ducks fell into a storm drain in Gosforth, Newcastle. The mother duck couldn’t fit through the grate, so she walked along the path of the sewer pipe, following the sounds of duckling cries. She had to cross highways and a railroad to keep up with them. The journey stopped at a manhole, where the duck quacked for help for hours. Passers by lifted the manhole cover with a crowbar and brought all six ducklings to safety.

Gutless

17 06 2008

Simply gutless. Cowardly. Disgraceful.

The way the New York Mets treated ex-manager Willie Randolph was a damn shame. Instead of firing him outright, they…

Told him on the bus to the airport Sunday–twice–that his job was safe. 3,000 miles to the coast later, one win later, he was summoned to the general manager’s hotel room. The GM hemmed and hawed, firing the pitching coach and then the first base coach. When Randolph asked about his status, the GM said, yeah, you’re fired too.

ANd the team sent a press release–at 3 in the morning.

Gutless, classless, undignified.

I do not understand why dignity is looked down upon these days. To treat a man like Willie Randolph in such a hideous manner baffles me.

Everyone deserves dignity.

Everyone.
